Join and help out at Amma’s program in Rijswijk
Amma’s Global Programs Are Entirely Run by Volunteers. People who have been touched by Amma’s message of love, compassion, and selfless service dedicate themselves wholeheartedly to creating a more beautiful world.
‘The greatest loss in life is missing opportunities to serve,
the world is yearning for selfless service.’
– Amma
The Dutch program is also made possible by about 100 local volunteers and 460 international volunteers who travel with Amma’s European tour. In addition, we need around 400 more helpers for various practical tasks — from washing dishes, chopping vegetables, and cleaning to welcoming visitors, managing parking, and much more.
Thanks to all these helping hands, thousands of people can experience Amma’s loving presence and her special embrace.
Will You Join Us?
For the organization, it’s most helpful if we can assign you where help is most needed.
👉 Please choose the first option: “I’m happy to help where it’s most needed.”
Would you prefer to select your own task?
👉 Then you can tick the second option: “I would like to choose my own seva.”
Extra help is also very welcome during setup and takedown!
Setup: Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to about 6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. into the evening.
Takedown: Starts Tuesday night and continues until about 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
Every contribution — big or small — makes a difference. Together, we create a place where love, joy, and connection can be felt.
Seva Bracelet for Volunteers
If you register before the program begins for 6 hours of seva per day, you’ll receive a special seva bracelet. With it, you’ll get:
- Darshan ticket for seva volunteers: You don’t have to stand in line for a ticket — Amma invites seva volunteers in groups.
- Prasad seva: You’ll hand Amma the candy she gives to people and may assist with other small tasks near Amma — for many, these are very special moments with Amma.
- Access to the Seva Café: A lovely place to relax, enjoy a free cup of coffee or tea, and meet other seva volunteers. Meals and snacks can be purchased — like all visitors — at the buffets or food stalls. There’s a wide selection at the Indian restaurant, the Western restaurant, and cozy stalls serving french fries, masala dosa, and Indian snacks.
- When you register for seva, you can also choose to purchase a breakfast voucher for the Western restaurant.
“Children, having a selfless attitude will uplift us. By helping others
we are, in fact, helping ourselves. On the other hand,
every time we do a selfish action, we are harming ourselves.”
– Amma

“Behind all great and unforgettable events is the heart. Love and a selfless attitude underlie all truly great deeds. Behind any good cause, you will find somebody who has renounced everything and dedicated his or her life to it.”
– Amma
Seva
One of the main lessons Amma keeps telling us, is that true happiness can be found by serving others. She says we learn most about ourselves and our issues, when we give time to others in need – without expecting anything in return. In India this is called seva: selflessly putting in the effort to help others, to serve God or the world as a whole. Amma says that seva is one of the most important elements of our spiritual path. Here you can find for more information about the meaning of seva.
